Mr. Nicholas Mulila, a distinguished leader and Chairman of the Board of Management (BOM) for several institutions, has spearheaded numerous transformative initiatives that are making a substantial difference in Kitui County.
Under his leadership as BOM Chair, Matinyani Boys High School has been transformed into a center of academic excellence. Building on this success, he assumed the role of BOM Chair at St. Charles Lwanga School, where he has been instrumental in implementing extensive infrastructure and strategic reforms. Within just one year, he oversaw the construction of a state-of-the-art dormitory worth Ksh 60 million and the drilling of a borehole, greatly improving facilities and resources for the students.
Mulila’s commitment to education is further evident through his substantial donations. Through the Safaricom Foundation, he contributed Ksh 24 million to Kalwilwaa Primary School in Mwingi Central, supporting vital school improvements. He has also been an advocate for healthcare, donating medical equipment valued at Ksh 14 million to Mutomo Mission Hospital and Ksh 3 million to Ikutha Level 4 Hospital, enhancing medical services for Kitui residents.
His leadership extends to technological advancements as well; Mulila has been instrumental in expanding network coverage to most parts of Kitui County, with efforts to connect remaining areas underway. He has also played a vital role in supporting youth by connecting over 200 young people from Kitui County to employment opportunities.
Throughout his career, Hon. Mulila has been an active participant in numerous fundraising initiatives, contributing to church construction, school development, and other community-centered projects. His dedication and generosity continue to make a profound impact on the people of Kitui County.
