In a Gazette Notice, President William Samoei Ruto has officially appointed members of the Selection Panel tasked with overseeing the recruitment of nominees for the Chairperson and Members of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The appointees, under different sub-paragraphs of Section 7A of the IEBC Act, include:
- Under Sub-paragraph 2(a): Kiome Lindah Gakii, Prof. Oloo Adams.
- Under Sub-paragraph 2(b): James Evans Misati, Nicodemus Kipchirehir Bore, Amb. Koki Muli Grignon.
- Under Sub-paragraph 2(c): Carolene Kiuku.
- Under Sub-paragraph 2(d): Tanui Andrew Kipkoech.
- Under Sub-paragraph 2(e): Dr. Nelson Makanda, Fatuma Saman.
The Selection Panel will play a critical role in ensuring a transparent and merit-based recruitment process for the next leadership of the IEBC.
