Governor Malombe Launches Care Economy Project in Kitui

By TCD DIGITAL

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today officiated the launch of the Evidence to Policy for Kenya Care Economy Project in Kitui town. The initiative, implemented by UN Women and Anglican Development Services Eastern (ADSE) in Kauwi, Mutomo, and Athi wards, seeks to support women and girls through gender-responsive care policies and services.

The project, the second of its kind in Kenya and Africa, aims to address the disproportionate burden of unpaid care work on women. It will promote awareness, encourage adoption of the National Care Policy, and foster ongoing dialogue for equitable care solutions.

Earlier, UN Women and ADSE representatives paid a courtesy call on Governor Malombe, who commended their efforts and assured them of his administration’s full support.
