Kitui County’s Ministry of Health and Sanitation today met with the County Assembly Committee on Health to discuss the Kitui County Health Facilities Improvement Financing (FIF) Bill, 2024. The bill seeks to boost financial sustainability in public health facilities by allowing them to retain and reinvest funds from sources such as insurance reimbursements.
Health CECM Ruth Koki emphasized that the bill aligns with Governor Malombe’s healthcare agenda, ensuring improved service delivery. Committee Chair Bernard Sila termed the bill a “game changer,” noting that it will directly benefit Kitui residents.
The session, moderated by Mutakha Kangu from the Council of Governors, provided a platform for feedback before the bill is tabled for debate.
