Construction of Kwa Kamari Police Station Kicks Off as Gov Malombe Invests Over Ksh 100 Million in Tseikuru Ward

The County Government of Kitui, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, has launched the construction of Kwa Kamari Police Station in Tseikuru Ward, Mwingi North Sub-County, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance security in border areas.

Kitui Chief Officer for Decentralized Units, Stephen Kitonga Salee, presided over the official site handover for the project. The police station, one of several development initiatives in Tseikuru, is expected to provide a lasting solution to insecurity and improve law enforcement operations in the region.

“The establishment of this police station is a crucial step in safeguarding our people. It will enhance law enforcement presence, deter crime, and promote peaceful coexistence,” Salee stated.

Multi-Million Development Projects in Tseikuru

Governor Malombe’s administration has allocated over Ksh 100 million for various development projects in Tseikuru Ward. Some of the key projects include:

  1. Kwa Kamari Police Station – Enhancing security in the region.

  2. Equipping of Katumbi Secondary School Borehole – Ensuring water access for students and the community.

  3. Construction of Karumu Sump Well – Improving water supply infrastructure.

  4. Nzanzeni-Kakungu Road Opening & Drift – Enhancing transport and connectivity.

  5. Tseikuru-Nzanzeni Routine Road Maintenance – Ensuring better road conditions.

  6. Ksh 12 Million CLIDP (County Local Infrastructure Development Programme) Projects – Covering various community needs.

Local Leaders and Residents Applaud the Initiative

Tseikuru MCA Daniel Muange and other leaders present commended the governor’s commitment to addressing security and development challenges in the region. Residents expressed optimism that the police station would curb crime and foster economic growth.

The event was attended by senior county officials, including Chief Officer for Transport & Boda Boda Ketonya Musya, members of the Tseikuru Sub-County Security Committee led by Ag. Deputy County Commissioner, and Area OCPD Mr. Joakim Mecha.

Governor Malombe’s administration continues to prioritize infrastructure, security, and social development, reinforcing its commitment to improving the livelihoods of Kitui residents.
