Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development, Alice Wahome, has met with Milka Moraa, the woman who recently went viral after being humiliated by a pastor for requesting rent assistance.
During their meeting, CS Wahome guided Moraa through the process of registering for the government’s Affordable Housing Program, aimed at providing decent and affordable shelter for low-income earners. The CS reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring all Kenyans have access to dignified housing.
Moraa’s plight had sparked national debate on the treatment of vulnerable individuals seeking help from religious leaders. The government’s intervention is seen as a step toward addressing housing challenges for struggling Kenyans.
