The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, has ordered the removal of three Kamba gospel songs from digital platforms, citing concerns over their content.
The songs in question—Kia Kii and Mee Mevete by Ndeke ya Muthanga, as well as Nienda Ukuvana by David Munyao (Mbete)—must be taken down before midnight, according to Mutua.
“We MUST restore sanity in Kamba Gospel Music!” he declared in a statement, emphasizing the need for moral standards in religious entertainment.
This move has sparked debate among artists and fans, with some supporting the crackdown while others argue it stifles artistic expression.
