Agriculture & Fisheries Chief Officer Gladys Kivoto issues a certificate of appreciation to members of Endau /Malalani CDDC

On Saturday 4th May,2024 -Kitui Chief Officer for Agriculture and Fisheries Gladys Kivoto officiated the closure meeting and the issuance of appreciation certificates to the Community Driven Development Committee ( CDDCs) under the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project ( NARIGP).

The project which operates under the components – supporting community driven Development, Strengthening Producer organizations and VC development, Supporting County Community – led development and whose aim is to increase Agricultural Productivity and increase Profitability in rural communities has supported four value chains in Kitui among them Mango, Poultry , Green grams and honey in 20 wards across the county.

Speaking in Mutomo town today, Mrs Kivoto lauded the success of the project saying it has helped to improve and change the livelihoods of Kitui residents.

She emphasized the need for communities to form/ join Saccos saying it’s the only way they will be able to reap maximum benefits from National Government funded projects , donors and the county Government.

” I am happy to say here today that this project has been a success, through groups I am certain that you have all benefited immensely” she said. The project which started in 2018 is ending on June 30th 2024.
