Former Kitui Governor Hon. Charity Ngilu has called on Kamba leaders serving in the Kenya Kwanza government to prioritize development in the region, urging them to focus on tangible progress rather than engaging in blame games.
Speaking at a funds drive event at the ACK Church in Kitui Town, where over Ksh 12 million was raised, Ngilu emphasized the need for leaders in the national government to use their influence to improve the lives of their constituents.
The event, whose chief guest was Mr. Nicholas Mulila, brought together various leaders and community members in support of local development initiatives.Ngilu highlighted the importance of unity among leaders to bring about transformative changes, particularly in underdeveloped regions like Kitui.
She noted that leadership should focus on uplifting the people’s livelihoods and working toward long-term progress.“Leaders in the government must work toward the betterment of the people’s lives. Development should be the priority, not blame games,” Ngilu remarked.
Her comments come at a time when there is growing public demand for enhanced infrastructure, healthcare, and economic opportunities in the region. Ngilu’s appeal underscores the need for collaboration among leaders to address these pressing issues and push the Kamba region onto the national development agenda.
