The countrywide community entry Baraza aimed at sensitizing the public on the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project ( NAVCDP) kicked off in all the 40 wards in Kitui County.
NAVCDP is a National Government project funded by World bank that is being implemented in 32 counties Kitui included targeting to increase market participation and value addition to farmers in select value chains selected for the project and coordinated by the National Project Coordinating Unit ( NCPU)
The community entry barazas which are part of the Participatory Integrated Community Development (PICD) are aimed at involving the community members to scan their environment and existing developments, identify gaps and plan on their developmental opportunities while aligning with NAVCDP objectives.
In Kiusyani area, of Kitui Rural Sub County the exercise was led by Ishmael Ang’asa the County Monitoring and Evaluation officer and Juliet Mwendwa- the County Social Safeguard and Gender Mainstreaming Officer.
