County Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Issues Certificate of Appreciation to Kyangwithya West Ward CDDC Member

Mwingi, Saturday, 4th May 2024 — Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture and Livestock, presided over the Closure Meeting of the National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project (NARGIP) in Mwingi town today. The program, which officially concludes on June 30th, has been a pivotal initiative for local farmers.

In his address, Dr. Kimwele lauded the farmers for their active participation and contributions to the project’s success. As a gesture of appreciation, he awarded certificates to distinguished farmers, including a notable member from the Kyangwithya West Ward Community-Driven Development Committee (CDDC).

Dr. Kimwele urged farmer groups to establish Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS) to maximize their benefits. He stressed the importance of inclusive and fair elections within these groups, advocating for the representation of youth, Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs), and ensuring gender balance.

Furthermore, he reiterated Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s dedication to promoting inclusivity and fairness across the county. He assured equitable distribution of resources to all farmer groups in Kitui, fostering an environment of growth and prosperity.

The County Government of Kitui Communications Department (CGoK.Comm.Dept) facilitated the event, highlighting its ongoing commitment to supporting agricultural initiatives and enhancing the livelihoods of local farmers.
