CRA Commissioner Benedict Muasya Joins DP Kindiki for MASSIVE Empowerment Forum in Kitui West

The CRA Commissioner, Mr. Benedict Muasya, today joined Deputy President H.E. Kithure Kindiki and a host of national and local leaders at Kwa Mutonga for a major Women and Youth Empowerment Forum.

The high-profile event, attended by thousands of residents and stakeholders, focused on uplifting local SACCOs and promoting grassroots development under the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). Several women and youth groups benefited from both financial and technical support aimed at enhancing their economic resilience.

Speaking at the event, Deputy President Kindiki reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive and equitable development. He lauded the collaboration between national and county leaders in driving economic empowerment at the grassroots level.

CRA Commissioner Mr. Muasya emphasized the importance of equitable resource allocation, noting that such forums are essential in addressing regional disparities and driving transformative change in marginalized areas.

A number of major national government projects set to benefit Kitui West Constituency were also unveiled. These include:

  • Tarmacking of Katutu-Kwa Mboya-Kwa Vonza Road
  • Construction of Hostels at Mutonguni and Kauwi Vocational Training Centres
  • New Markets in Kabati, Kwa Mboya, and Tulia
  • Construction of Kwa Mutonga Dam
  • Rural Electrification in 26 sub-locations
  • Operationalization of newly gazetted administrative units
  • Agricultural support programs to enhance livelihoods in the semi-arid region

Additional projects under discussion include:

  • Kitui West Vocational Training Institute
  • Katutu Market
  • Syongila–Kakumuti–Muthale (Tulia) Road
  • Matinga Dam, Kitimui Dam
  • Matinyani VTC Hostel
  • Matinyani Market

Leaders present at the event called for unity and urged residents to embrace and take full advantage of the government’s empowerment initiatives. They expressed confidence in President William Ruto’s leadership and declared their support for his administration to complete two full terms in office.
