Patrick Kasimu Criticizes MP Racheal Nyamai for Supporting Finance Bill 2024-25

Patrick Kasimu has criticized Kitui South MP Racheal Nyamai for her support of the Finance Bill 2024-25.

Kasimu expressed his discontent during an interview on a Kamba vernacular TV station, accusing Nyamai of backing the bill to curry favor with President William Ruto.

On the other side Rachael had said that the CS should tell her key supporters the purpose of the finance bill and that it’s the one that provides money to govt ministries, departments and the semi autonomous agencies. Mr Kasimu who also is an employee of nairobi county had threatened to lead youths in the 6 wards to demonstrate against the bill which he says is oppressive.

Kasimu, a devoted member of the Wiper Democratic Movement, argued that the Finance Bill is not a priority for the people and that Nyamai’s support is politically motivated.

Kasimu had earlier been at longer heads with police officers in Mutomo when he attempted to have demonstrations which were thwarted by police and several youths were arrested.

He suggested that Nyamai’s alignment with the bill is aimed at strengthening her political ties with the president rather than addressing the pressing needs of her constituents.

“The Finance Bill 2024-25 does not address the immediate concerns of the people. MP Racheal Nyamai is supporting it merely to gain favor with President Ruto,” Kasimu stated during the interview.

The Finance Bill 2024-25 has been a contentious issue, sparking debate among various political factions. Critics argue that the bill imposes additional financial burdens on citizens, while supporters claim it is necessary for the country’s economic stability and growth.

Kasimu’s remarks highlight the growing political tensions and differing priorities among Kenya’s lawmakers.

MP Racheal Nyamai is yet to respond to Kasimu’s comments.
