A war of words has escalated into a legal showdown after prominent lawyer Danstan Omari issued a demand letter to blogger and Nairobi politician Robert Alai, seeking KSh 100 million in damages.
Omari accuses Alai of publishing a viral Facebook post filled with insults and defamatory remarks, which he claims have damaged his reputation.
The lawyer has given Alai 48 hours to delete the post and offer a public apology, or face legal action in court.
