The National Liberal Party (NLP) and its newly elected Party Leader Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli, received a significant boost after the Agikuyu Council of Elders formally endorsed his leadership and granted him their blessings to seek political support in the Mt. Kenya region including vying for
presidency in 2027.
During a high-profile meeting held in Nairobi, the Agikuyu Council of Elders, led by its national chairman Wachira Kiago, welcomed Dr. Muli and encouraged him to engage Mt. Kenya leaders and residents in dialogue aimed at forging a strong political alliance ahead of the 2027 general election.
Kiago also urged Dr. Muli to reach out to other like-minded leaders from his Kamba community, including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, in an effort to unite and consolidate the Kamba vote for better bargaining power ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We give our blessings to Dr. Muli and welcome him to speak to all our GEMA people and its leaders. The time has come to build bridges and form alliances and the GEMA community must not appear divided ,” said Kiago.
In attendance were members of the Agikuyu Council of Elders’ executive committee, representatives from the Kamba Council of Elders, and a delegation representing James Syengo. Also present was National Liberal Party Chairman Teddy Kenyatta, who reaffirmed the party’s commitment to supporting Dr. Muli’s presidential aspirations.
In his remarks, Dr. Muli thanked the elders for their support and emphasized his intention to unite the Akamba people and fight for the marginalized to mount a community in the country.
“NLP is honored by this show of faith and unity. I assure the Mt. Kenya region, the GEMA community, and Kenyans at large that I will offer transformative leadership and a unifying vision for the country,” Dr. Muli stated.
The endorsement marks a key moment in national liberal Party and Dr. Muli´s political clamour is Kenya’s alternative political voice.
