Elephant Herd Roams Simisi Area, Residents Urged to Exercise Caution

The residents of Kanziku Ward and Mutha Ward in Kitui south are living in fear followin an unusual and majestic sight that has gripped the attention of residents—a herd of elephants, wandering freely in the Simisi area.

While it may seem like a picturesque scene from a wildlife documentary, the reality on the ground is a bit more complex and potentially hazardous.

Kanziku division Assitant County Commissioner Madam Mercy Mwalegha has urged residents to be vigilant and avoid walking around aimlessly .

In response to the situation, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has been notified and tasked with taking the necessary action. The KWS officers have been informed to take the necessary action.
