GEMA Leaders Meet Ahead of Muna Declaration, Endorse Kalonzo Musyoka for Presidency

The coordinator of Mwingi Professionals, Mr. Campbell Munyambu, was among the distinguished attendees at a high-level meeting of GEMA community leaders held recently. The gathering, which drew influential figures from across the region, signals growing support for the Wiper Party leader, H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka, ahead of Thursday’s anticipated “Muna Declaration.”

Among the prominent attendees was GEMA national chairman Bishop Imathiu, seated in front of Mr. Munyambu. He was flanked by the second chairman, George Ndoto, and other respected Kamba leaders including Professor Muluvi. Also present was Canon Karanja, the tall figure positioned behind Mr. Munyambu, who serves as the Secretary General of the GEMA leadership.

The meeting echoed a unified call for national cohesion and declared unwavering support for Kalonzo Musyoka’s presidential bid in the 2027 general elections. Organizers and speakers emphasized the theme “One Voice, One People,” highlighting the need for regional solidarity and a collective political direction.

Thursday’s Muna Declaration is expected to be a pivotal moment, marking a formal endorsement of Kalonzo Musyoka’s candidature under a unified Eastern and Mt. Kenya front.

“There is no turning back. It’s Kalonzo for president,” said one of the leaders, capturing the spirit and determination of the moment.

As the 2027 political landscape begins to take shape, this strategic alliance between GEMA and Kamba leaders may become a defining force in the national discourse.
