Renowned gospel artist Stella Mengele has raised concerns over the misuse of social media, calling for a collective effort to restore sanity and decency in the community.
In a strong message shared on her social media platforms, Mengele decried the rise of loud, untruthful, and manipulative individuals who use online spaces for selfish gain. She warned that such behaviors threaten societal values and could negatively impact future generations.
“Whereas our efforts to mentor and employ grace haven’t succeeded, we MUST collectively do everything we can to STOP the threat and protect generations to come from inheriting a bad culture,” she stated.
Addressing the youth, she emphasized the importance of responsibility and accountability, reminding them that actions have consequences. “Words and actions can’t be swallowed back after you speak or act. You alone are responsible for your actions,” she cautioned.
She also urged the public not to take sides blindly in online controversies, stressing the need for truth over rumors, lies, and hearsay. “Truth is gentle but stands forever. Evil mercilessly eats its own host for dinner, don’t entertain it,” she added.
Mengele further reminded Kenyans about the power of the law, warning that legal consequences await those who misuse social media to spread falsehoods. “Don’t be fooled; the law exists, and it catches up with offenders. If you commit an offense, don’t cry when the law catches up with you. If you are wronged, follow the legal path to seek justice.”
She concluded her message with a prayer for societal sanity, urging people to remember that “we are still on Earth, not in Heaven yet.”
Mengele, popularly known as Auntie wa Mbai, continues to use her platform to inspire and guide her followers, urging them to uphold truth, integrity, and lawful conduct in both online and offline interactions.
