Kitui Central MP Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu, CBS, has reassured Catholic bishops of unwavering support from political leaders in their mission to uphold moral values and advocate for justice. Speaking during a church service at Christ the King Kamuw’ongo Catholic Parish in Mwingi North, Dr. Mulu urged religious leaders to remain steadfast, emphasizing that political leadership recognizes and backs their role in shaping societal values.
Dr. Mulu accompanied Wiper Party Leader H.E. Dr. Kalonzo Musyoka, Mwingi North MP Hon. Paul Nzengu, Mwingi West MP Hon. Charles Nguna, and a delegation of MCAs from the Kitui County Assembly.
In his address, Dr. Kalonzo Musyoka reiterated the importance of collaboration between political and religious institutions in promoting peace, unity, and good governance. He called on faith leaders to continue being the conscience of society, ensuring leaders remain accountable to the people.
The leaders also used the occasion to emphasize the Wiper Party’s commitment to defending democratic values and championing the welfare of Kenyans. The visit to the parish underscores the increasing engagement between political leaders and the church, particularly as Kenya gears up for future political realignments.
With growing concerns over governance and social justice, church leaders have been vocal in calling out corruption and bad leadership. The presence of top Wiper leaders at the event signals a broader push to solidify relations with faith-based organizations as a pillar for ethical leadership and societal transformation.
This renewed partnership between the church and political leaders is expected to play a crucial role in shaping public discourse ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
