Yatta Kwa Vonza Ward is set to benefit from improved road infrastructure following the official handover of a construction site for a slab along the Kiumoni–Mamole–Kwakilui road by area MCA Hon. Mark Ndingo.
The project, funded by the County Government of Kitui under the leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, aims to enhance accessibility and ease transportation challenges faced by boarders, particularly during the rainy season.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Ndingo reaffirmed his commitment to delivering tangible development to the people of Yatta Kwa Vonza.
“This project is part of our broader efforts to improve road networks across the ward. The Kiumoni–Mamole–Kwakilui road is a vital link for farmers, traders, and school-going children. Once complete, the slab will help eliminate the disruptions caused by seasonal flooding,” he said.
Residents who attended the handover expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that poor road conditions have long hindered economic activities in the area.
Construction is expected to begin immediately, with the contractor already on site to commence the works.
