Hundreds Benefit from Free Eye Clinic in Kitui Jordan hospital

On, 30th May , 2025 – More than 300 residents of Kitui County received free eye treatment during a medical outreach camp organized by MaxVision Eye Clinic in partnership with Jordan Hospital day one.

The event, held at Jordan Hospital in Kitui Town, saw hundreds of elderly people and school-going children receive vital eye check-ups and prescription eyeglasses free of charge. The initiative was part of ongoing efforts by both institutions to support community health.

Dr. Rose, a medical officer at Jordan Hospital, expressed her commitment to continuing such outreach programs.

“Jordan Hospital will keep offering free medical services to give back to the community. It’s part of our mission to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all,” said Dr. Rose.

Dr. Nyenze Mwinzi of MaxVision Eye Clinic also emphasized the importance of continued partnerships.

“We are proud to partner with Jordan Hospital in offering these essential services. Vision care is often neglected, yet it’s so critical, especially for the elderly and school children,” Dr. Mwinzi stated.

Jordan Hospital Director, Dr. Joshua Matu, noted that the hospital has been conducting similar free medical camps nearly every three months. He reaffirmed the hospital’s dedication to supporting underprivileged communities across Kitui.

The successful event marked yet another milestone in improving access to eye care and general medical services in the region.
