Incoming Governor Waita Nzioka Gains Momentum as Machakos Residents Demand Change Ahead of 2027 Elections

Former Machakos gubernatorial candidate Hon. Waita Nzioka is steadily gaining political momentum as local leaders and residents rally behind his anticipated 2027 bid for the governor’s seat.

Residents from various parts of Machakos County have voiced their dissatisfaction with the current leadership, citing a lack of tangible development under Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s administration. They accused her of engaging in endless political drama while neglecting essential services.

“We want equipped health facilities, improved ECDE infrastructure, better roads, and modern agricultural support – not empty promises and theatrics,” one resident said during a community meeting.

Hon. Waita Nzioka, who previously contested in the 2022 general election, is reportedly receiving overwhelming backing from key political figures in Machakos. Many believe his managerial background and track record make him a suitable candidate to steer the county towards meaningful progress.

“The seat of Governor requires a competent manager, not a career politician. Waita Nzioka fits that bill perfectly,” said one Machakos MP.

As political temperatures begin to rise ahead of the 2027 general election, it remains to be seen whether the growing support for Waita Nzioka will translate into victory at the ballot box. However, his supporters are confident that the wind of change is blowing through Machakos County.
