Kitui South witnessed widespread jubilation as the family of hon Micheal Kivoto continued their annual tradition of sharing Christmas gifts with the elderly. This year’s initiative touched the lives of hundreds of senior citizens across the region, further cementing the family’s legacy of philanthropy and care for the less fortunate.
In the morning, the Kivoto family visited Kanziko Ward, where they distributed gifts to the elderly, bringing smiles and heartfelt gratitude from the beneficiaries. Later in the day, the family extended the celebration to Kalambani in Mutha Ward, where Madam Gladys Mami Kivoto personally led the gift-giving exercise.
Madam Kivoto, who serves as the Chief Officer for Agriculture in the County Government of Kitui, expressed her deep commitment to uplifting the lives of the elderly and vulnerable members of society. She emphasized that this mission has been a cornerstone of her family’s values since 2016.
“It gives us immense joy to share what we have with those who have given so much to society. The elderly hold a special place in our hearts, and this is our way of honoring them,” said Madam Kivoto during the event.
The recipients, many of whom struggle with daily needs, showered the Kivoto family with blessings and warm wishes. The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of togetherness as the elderly expressed their gratitude for being remembered during the festive season.
The Kivoto family also called on other individuals and organizations to join in such initiatives, urging people of goodwill to support the elderly and vulnerable in their communities.
As the year 2024 draws to a close, the family’s acts of kindness have left a lasting impact, inspiring many in Kitui South and beyond. The celebrations were a heartwarming reminder of the power of giving and the importance of remembering the less fortunate during the holiday season.
