Kawaya Slams Kalonzo in Fierce Political Attack: “40 Years, Nothing to Show!”

Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka Attacks Kalonzo Musyoka Over Development Record.

Mwala Member of Parliament Vincent Musyoka Kawaya has launched a scathing attack on Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, accusing him of failing to deliver meaningful development despite being in top leadership positions for over four decades.

Speaking during an empowerment forum in Kitui East attended by Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Kawaya criticized Kalonzo’s long-standing political career, claiming it has yielded little for the people of Ukambani.

“I saw Gachagua visiting Kalonzo at his home, in a village with no roads or water, yet both of them have served as deputy presidents,” Kawaya remarked. “What legacy does Kalonzo have to show after more than 40 years in politics? Our people are still suffering.”

The MP questioned the value of Kalonzo’s leadership and urged the community to start aligning with leaders focused on tangible development rather than rhetoric and personality cults.

His remarks come at a time when political realignments are beginning to take shape ahead of the 2027 general elections, with various leaders positioning themselves for national influence in the vote-rich Eastern region.

Deputy President Kindiki, who was the chief guest at the event, steered clear of the political attacks and instead emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering grassroots communities through development programs and security initiatives.

Kawaya’s comments are likely to stir political temperatures in the region, which has traditionally been a stronghold of the Wiper Party and Kalonzo Musyoka.
