The Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA) Kitui County chapter successfully held its inaugural Annual General Meeting and Conference at the Kitui Multipurpose Development and Training Institute.
The high-level education forum, which brought together thousands of primary school heads and education stakeholders from across the county, was held under the theme: “Enhancing Competency-Based Education Effectiveness in Kitui County through Transformative Leadership for Sustainable Development.”
Addressing the gathering, Kitui County KNUT Secretary General Mr. Simon Mutunga Nding’o emphasized the critical role of teachers in shaping both education and governance.
He stated that educators would be actively involved in the upcoming general election, noting that the teaching fraternity plans to closely scrutinize all gubernatorial candidates before endorsing one who demonstrates a strong, respectful relationship with teachers and a clear agenda for the education sector.
“This time, teachers will not sit on the sidelines. We will participate fully in the next general election and rally behind a candidate who has a good rapport with educators and a clear plan to support education in Kitui,” said Mr. Nding’o.
The event marked a significant milestone in uniting education leaders under a shared vision of improving learning outcomes through leadership, policy engagement, and collective advocacy.
