Kitui MCAs Tipped for Re-election in 2027 as Political Heat Rises

As the 2027 General Election draws closer, political murmurs across Kitui County suggest a reshuffling of fortunes in the County Assembly.

According to the grapevine, only a select few MCAs are seen as strong contenders for re-election, with the rest said to be “walking on a tight rope” amid shifting voter sentiments and local dynamics.

Those tipped to comfortably retain their seats include:

Hon. Mark Ndingo – Yatta/Kwa Vonza Ward

Hon. Alex Ng’ang’a – Miambani Ward

Hon. Sylvester Kitheka – Matinyani Ward

Hon. Dominic Mwamisi – Mutha Ward

Hon. Nicholas Mutemi – Kisasi Ward

Hon. Jeremia – Nguni Ward

Political observers cite the leaders’ visibility on the ground, development track records, and connection with the electorate as key factors contributing to their anticipated success.

Meanwhile, other sitting MCAs are reportedly facing growing criticism from constituents over unfulfilled promises, poor performance, and lack of grassroots engagement. With voter expectations rising, the battle for ward-level representation in Kitui is expected to intensify in the coming months.

Local political analysts warn that the tides could change quickly, especially with the ongoing political realignments and the increasing involvement of youth and women in the county’s political discourse.
