Kitui County Assembly Wrangles Could Hurt Kalonzo’s 2027 Presidential Bid, MCA Mark Ndingo Warns

Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Kitute Ndingo has warned that the ongoing leadership wrangles in the Kitui County Assembly could damage the reputation of Wiper Party leader Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.

Speaking during a morning show on Mutongoi TV, Ndingo called for unity among Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) and urged Speaker Kevin Kinengo to convene a meeting of the whole house to resolve the existing differences.

“The impeachment of the Speaker will not be the solution. We need dialogue and consensus to ensure the county assembly operates smoothly,” Ndingo stated.

Speaker Kinengo has faced accusations from MCAs, who claim he has failed to provide them with adequate space to debate key issues affecting the county. The wrangles have heightened tensions within the assembly, with some MCAs pushing for his removal.

Ndingo’s remarks come amid concerns that the infighting within the county’s legislative arm could reflect poorly on the Wiper Party and its leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, who is positioning himself for the 2027 presidential race.

Political analysts have warned that instability within Wiper-dominated counties like Kitui could undermine Kalonzo’s influence and credibility as he seeks national support.

The call for unity now places pressure on Speaker Kinengo and the MCAs to find an amicable resolution to the disputes to prevent further damage to the party’s image.
