Kitui County Boosts Livestock Health with Mass Vaccination in Mulango ward

Kaumba village, Mulango ward, Kitui central Sub- County witnessed a significant livestock health intervention, as veterinary officers from the Kitui County Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock carried out a series of disease prevention measures.

During the exercise, 52 cattle were vaccinated against Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD), 150 goats received immunization against Contagious Caprine Pleuropneumonia (CCPP), and nine dogs were vaccinated against rabies. Additionally, 14 donkeys were dewormed to enhance their overall health and productivity.

The initiative aimed to protect livestock from common diseases, improve animal welfare, and safeguard the livelihoods of local farmers.

The County officials emphasized the importance of regular vaccinations and deworming to prevent disease outbreaks and support sustainable livestock farming.
