The County Government of Kitui is set to host a two-day Local Investors’ Sensitization Forum on March 13–14, 2025, at the Kitui County Aggregation and Industrial Park in Kanyonyo. The forum will bring together over 1,500 local investors, MSMEs, and key stakeholders to explore investment opportunities across the county.
Speaking during a media briefing, Madam Rose Mutuku, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Trade, Industry, MSMEs, Innovation, and Cooperatives, emphasized the forum’s role in unlocking Kitui’s investment potential and preparing local investors for the upcoming Kitui County International Investment Conference in October 2025.
Mapping Investment Opportunities
The forum will highlight the Six Economic Investment Zones (EIZs) identified in the KIVEST 2025 blueprint, including:
1. Kyuso – Mumoni – Tseikuru – Tharaka
2. Mwingi Town and Environs
3. Mui Basin
4. Kanyangi – Kwa Vonza – Kanyonyo
5. Kitui Town and Environs
6. Mutomo – Ikutha – Kanziko – Mutha – Athi
Investors will gain insights into resource endowments, business incentives, and government initiatives aimed at driving industrialization and economic growth.
Forum Objectives & Expected Outcomes
The forum will serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and business collaboration, with key objectives including:
Showcasing investment opportunities in the EIZs
Informing investors about government support programs and incentives
Enhancing awareness of investment policies and industry regulations
Strengthening public-private partnerships to accelerate economic transformation
Expected outcomes include an improved understanding of investment potential, enhanced collaboration between government agencies and investors, and an increased awareness of economic policies and frameworks.

Closing her remarks, Madam Rose Mutuku encouraged local investors to seize the opportunities available in Kitui.
