Kitui, June 2, 2024 — The Kitui County Scouts competition culminated in a vibrant ceremony where the winning schools were awarded trophies for their exemplary performances.
The event, graced by the presence of high ranking Mp for Mwingi West Hon. Charles Nguna, and Scouts Association Patron, saw enthusiastic participation from various schools across the county.
The coveted trophies were donated by Hon. Charles Nguna, underscoring his commitment to supporting and nurturing young scouts in the region. The awards were presented as follows:
Trophy One: Awarded to Mwamba Patrol from Muthale Girls Secondary School, representing Kitui West.
Trophy Two: Claimed by Thokoa Rover Crew from the tertiary category in Mwingi West.
Trophy Three: Bestowed upon Chipukizi Patrol from St. Michael Academy Kitui, representing the primary school category in Kitui Central.
Hon. Nguna, while addressing the attendees, emphasized the importance of scouting in building character and resilience among the youth.
He echoed the famous words of the founder of the Scouts movement, “A Scout is never taken by surprise; he knows exactly what to do when anything unexpected happens,” highlighting the preparedness and adaptability that scouting instills in its members.
