Kitui Deputy Gov Joins Governor Dr. Julius Malombe to Champion Local Investment at Sensitization Conference

Kitui Deputy Governor HE Wambua Kanani joined his boss, Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, at the Kitui County Local Investors’ Sensitization Conference.

This event aims to boost local economic growth through targeted investment initiatives. Spearheaded by Rose Mutuku, the CECM Ministry of Trade, Industry, MSMEs, Innovation, and Cooperatives, the conference attracted diverse local investors from sectors including cooperatives, hospitality, SACCOs, banking, and farming.Under Governor Malombe’s “Unlocking Kitui’s Investment Potential for Investors” initiative, part of his broader Kitui Promise, the county has identified several economic zones with high investment potential. These zones include Kanyangi-Kanyonyoo-Kwa Vonza, Kyuso-Tseikuru-Mumoni, the Kitui County Headquarters and its environs, Mui Basin, Mwingi Town and its surroundings, and Mutomo-Ikutha-Kanziko. The goal is to stimulate local economic growth and benefit residents through these strategic areas.

In his address, Governor Malombe reaffirmed his dedication to fostering a conducive business environment. He highlighted measures such as implementing predictable taxes, improving infrastructure, enhancing street and market lighting, and enacting favorable policies to attract local investments.

Governor Malombe also announced plans for an Investors Conference in October at Ithookwe showground, inviting investors from across Kenya to explore opportunities in Kitui. He promised robust support, ensuring an uninterrupted and favorable business environment bolstered by good roads, water supply, healthcare facilities, schools, and other social amenities.This commitment to a supportive business climate is set to create employment opportunities and spur economic growth in Kitui County.Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani, members of the executive, county assembly members, and other notable public figures attended the conference.

Various investors showcased their services and products, pledging continued financial support to generate more income opportunities for Kitui residents.
