Outstanding Kitui Member of County assembly for yatta kwa vonza Hon. Mark Ndingo (MCA) has welcomed the gazettement of new Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners, describing it as “great news for Kenyans.”
In a statement to the TCD digital Media, the MCA emphasized that the appointment of the new commissioners signals the beginning of crucial preparations for the 2027 general elections. “The commissioners should now get to work and ensure the successful preparation for the upcoming elections,” said Hon. Ndingo.
He further urged the IEBC to prioritize voter registration, which he believes should commence without delay. “Voter registration should begin immediately, and alongside that, the commission must work on filling vacant wards and constituencies,” he added.
The call from Hon. Ndingo reflects growing anticipation ahead of the next elections, with many citizens eager to see comprehensive planning to guarantee a smooth electoral process in 2027.
The new IEBC commissioners are now tasked with overseeing the preparations for one of the most significant electoral events in the country’s history.
