Kitui South MP, Hon. Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai, has officially launched the Presidential Bursary Fund, a program aimed at supporting vulnerable students and orphans in public secondary schools and universities.
During the launch, at least 80 students from the six wards of Kitui South benefited from a total of Ksh 689,655, offering them a lifeline to continue their education without financial barriers.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Nyamai emphasized the importance of education in transforming lives and reiterated her commitment to ensuring that students from disadvantaged backgrounds receive the necessary support.
“As leaders, our responsibility is to empower the next generation through education. This bursary will provide relief to students and their families who are struggling to meet school fees,” she stated.
Kitui County KUPPET Annual Meeting
Following the launch, Dr. Nyamai attended the Kitui County KUPPET Annual Meeting at Mutomo Cottages, where thousands of teachers gathered to discuss key issues affecting the education sector.
The event was graced by Hon. Jonathan Mueke, PS Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, who served as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Nicholas Mulila, Chief Corporate Security Officer at Safaricom PLC, alongside other dignitaries.
The meeting provided a platform for educators and leaders to engage in discussions aimed at improving the quality of education in the region.With continued efforts to enhance education through bursary programs and collaboration with stakeholders, Kitui South remains committed to empowering students and strengthening the education sector.
