In addition to the fund disbursement, the leaders launched a constituency-wide campaign to combat gender-based violence (GBV). They called for a united front to eliminate GBV and ensure women and children live in dignity and security.
“We must rise and protect the rights and lives of our women and children. This is not just a local issue — it is a national priority,” said Deputy Speaker Shollei.
The campaign will focus on awareness creation, strengthening community structures to report and prevent GBV, and working with local stakeholders to build safer and more inclusive communities.
The dual agenda of economic empowerment and social protection was praised by local leaders and community members, who lauded Dr. Nyamai for her continued dedication to the people of Kitui South.

The event was graced by 19 MPs from across the country, including Hon. Gladys Boss Shollei (Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly), Hon.
