Kitui South MP Rachel Nyamai Graces Maluma Division ACC Handover Ceremony

Kitui South Member of Parliament, Dr. Rachel Kaki Nyamai, on Friday joined government officials and local leaders at Kamutei, Athi Ward, to witness the official handover of the new Maluma Division Assistant County Commissioner (ACC).

The event marked the installation of Daniel Irungu Gitau as the new ACC, in a ceremony attended by a cross-section of local administration and political leadership. Among the dignitaries present were Athi Ward MCA Muthama Kieti, Ikutha Deputy County Commissioner Anderson Ayuku, and Mutomo ACC Esther Thuo, alongside chiefs and assistant chiefs from across the region.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Nyamai commended the national government for strengthening grassroots administration through such appointments and reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with state officers to enhance service delivery and security in Kitui South.

“This handover signifies renewed coordination and focus in addressing the needs of our people. I welcome Mr. Gitau and assure him of our full support in his new role,” Dr. Nyamai said.

The ceremony also provided a platform for leaders to discuss ongoing development priorities, security issues, and how best to enhance collaboration between elected officials and the provincial administration.
