The Kitui Water and Sanitation Company (KITWASCO) has officially launched its ambitious Strategic Plan 2024-2029, marking a significant milestone in the County’s water sector development agenda.
The event, held at Marie Gardens Hotel in Kitui Town, was presided over by the Deputy Governor H.E. Augustine Kanani, who lauded KITWASCO’s efforts to align its objectives with the County Government’s development blueprint.
“This strategic plan is a clear demonstration of KITWASCO’s commitment to sustainable water delivery, improved governance, and enhanced customer service,” said Deputy Governor Kanani.
Also present were key county officials including the CECM for Water and Sanitation Hon. Peter Nkunda, Chief Officer for Water Nathan Vungo, and Chief Officer for Budget and Economic Planning Patrick Munuve. The leadership and management of KITWASCO, led by Managing Director Ms. June Munyao, were in full attendance alongside various stakeholders and development partners.
In her remarks, MD June Munyao outlined the key pillars of the plan, which include infrastructure development, financial sustainability, community engagement, and environmental conservation.
The new five-year plan is expected to steer KITWASCO toward greater efficiency in water service provision across the county, with the vision of achieving “Quality Water for All.”
The event concluded with a ceremonial unveiling of the plan document, signaling a renewed commitment to “Delivering the Kitui Promise.”
