Residents Express Untold Joy as Kiusyani Dustless Project Officially Handed Over to Contractor

The long-awaited Kiusyani Dustless Project has officially been handed over to the contractor, marking a major step in the county government’s efforts to enhance urban infrastructure.

The project, valued at KSh 30 million, aims to improve road networks within Kiusyani Market, reducing dust pollution and making the area more accessible for businesses and residents.

The official handover ceremony was presided over by Kitui County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Hon. Fredrick Kimanga, who led a delegation of county officials to the site.

Accompanied by Chief Officer for Urban Development, Mr. Kyamia, and Chief Officer for Roads, Mr. Evans Mutemi, Hon. Kimanga reiterated the county government’s commitment to infrastructure development, noting that the project aligns with Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s vision of modernizing urban centers across Kitui County.

The event was hosted by Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA, Hon. Mark Nding’o, who lauded Governor Malombe for prioritizing the transformation of Kiusyani Market. He expressed confidence that the project would not only improve the town’s appearance but also attract more investment and economic opportunities for local traders and residents.

Also present at the ceremony were Kitui Rural Sub-County Administrator Samuel Wambua, Makusya Village Administrator Mary Lulu, Chief Officer Eng. Chamisaa, and other county officials. The leaders reassured the community that the project would be completed on schedule, ensuring a dust-free and business-friendly environment for Kiusyani residents.

Hon. Kimanga emphasized that the county government remains dedicated to enhancing infrastructure in both urban and rural areas. He noted that the project is a testament to the administration’s focus on service delivery, aiming to create cleaner, safer, and more developed urban centers.
