Yatta Kwa Vonza Ward MCA Hon. Mark Ndingo presided over the handover of completed solar lighting and wiring installations at the Kwavonza Health Centre on Tuesday. The project, executed by the County Government of Kitui under the leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe, EGH, marks a major step forward for the facility, which is now poised to provide 24-hour services.
The installation of solar lights is expected to be crucial in ensuring uninterrupted operations during power outages. Ndingo praised the county government’s efforts in enhancing healthcare infrastructure and reiterated the importance of reliable electricity in ensuring quality healthcare services. “This project is a game-changer for our community. With 24-hour operations, we can now better cater to the needs of our people, especially in providing critical maternity services,” he said.
The solar lighting project is part of broader efforts by the Kitui County Government to enhance service delivery in rural health centres and improve the well-being of its citizens.
