Water Pipeline Extension to Boost Supply in Nthongoni

Nthongoni residents are set to benefit from an extended water pipeline aimed at improving water accessibility. The project, undertaken by Welt Hunger Hilfe (WHH) in partnership with the Kitui County Government, will see the construction of five additional water kiosks along a two-kilometer stretch.

Speaking during a public participation forum, Yatta Kwa Vonza MCA Mark Nding’o emphasized that the initiative will reduce the distance residents travel to fetch water and enhance supply to the community.

NTHONGONI!Hon. Mark Nding’o, MCA, Yatta/Kwavonza ward, partnering with Welt Hunger Hilfe; WHH donor from Germany, in a community public participation, for extension of Nthongoni water supply lines for Nthongoni borehole, to increase the water kiosks from the current four to nine water kiosks, so as to serve more people and reduce the distances of travel in drawing/accessing water. Present were KRC SCA Samuel Wambua, YKV WA Alice Kimeu-Kioko, sub-county water engineer Richard Mwanzia and members of Nthongoni community.
