Kisasi Ward today marked a major milestone in the empowerment of local transport operators with the official inauguration of the Kisasi Ward Boda Boda SACCO.
The colorful event was held at Mbusyani Village and was officiated by Kisasi MCA Hon. Nicholas Muema Mutemi and CO Ketonya Musya.The formation of the SACCO is a key step towards organizing the boda boda sector in the ward and enhancing the economic welfare of its members.
The event was held courtesy of H.E. Dr. Julius Makau Malombe, Governor of Kitui County, and Hon. Mutemi, who have both pledged continued support for youth and grassroots economic initiatives.
The forum was attended by key stakeholders in the boda boda sector, including the County Boda Boda Chairman Mr. Kevin Kivala, along with numerous boda boda operators from across Kisasi Ward.
Speaking during the inauguration, Hon. Mutemi commended the operators for coming together in unity and emphasized the importance of SACCOs in driving financial independence, access to credit facilities, and investment opportunities for youth in the transport industry.
Governor Malombe, through a statement delivered at the event by Chief officer for Transport and Boda boda sector ketonya Musya reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting grassroots development and pledged further collaboration with such groups to enhance service delivery and economic empowerment.
The inauguration sets the stage for improved coordination within the boda boda sector and signals a new chapter of structured growth and opportunities for the youth of Kisasi Ward.
