MP Charles Nguna Warns Against Violence Ahead of MCA Burial in Mwingi West

By TCD team
Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna has issued a stern warning to political leaders and supporters planning to attend the upcoming burial of the late Kariobangi North MCA, urging them to maintain peace and decorum during the ceremony.

Speaking through the popular online forum “KPC Wall,” which hosts prominent figures from Kitui County, the youthful Wiper legislator emphasized that while visitors are welcome, any form of violence or political chaos will not be tolerated.

“Everybody is welcome to the burial ceremony, especially our friend MW. We love peace and humility—but we hate violence, divisive or retrogressive politics, and politics in burials,” Nguna stated. “Be warned, Mwingi West is not a war zone. If you bring chaos, you will face the full force of the law. We are fully prepared.”

The burial, set for Friday, is expected to attract various political figures from across the country, some of whom have previously been associated with confrontational political conduct. The late MCA, a notable figure in Nairobi County politics, had connections across several political divides, raising concerns over potential tensions during the funeral.

Nguna’s statement comes amid growing concern about the politicization of funerals in the region, with residents increasingly calling for such ceremonies to be respected as solemn, non-political events.

Security agencies are reportedly on high alert to ensure peace prevails throughout the ceremony.
