Kitui South Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Rachael Nyamai, has sent a stern warning to her political challengers ahead of the 2027 general election, saying she is confident of defeating all aspirants eyeing her seat by a huge margin.
The three-term MP, known for her resilience and ability to win elections on unpopular party tickets in the region, maintained that her consistent choice to align with the ruling government has been deliberate—to ensure that Kitui South reaps the benefits of development.
“Being on the government side has helped me bring tangible development to the people of Kitui South,” she said, defending her political decisions during past elections.
Dr. Nyamai’s remarks come after President William Ruto, through the Ministry of Roads and Infrastructure, announced plans to tarmac the vital Ikutha–Kanziko–Mutha–Mutomo road. The road project, expected to improve connectivity and spur economic growth, will be implemented under the stewardship of MP Nyamai.
With her development record and political experience, analysts predict that unseating her in 2027 will be a tall order unless rival aspirants adopt new strategies.
“The seat is not for the faint-hearted. Let those salivating for it come prepared,” she stated.
As the 2027 election race gradually heats up, all eyes will be on Kitui South to see whether Dr. Nyamai will secure a historic fourth term in office.
