Musambi Leads Livestock Restocking Exercise , a Renewed Hope to Kitui Central Residents

Former Kitui Central MP aspirant and current Director of Coordination at State House, Boniface Musambi, on thursday led a significant livestock restocking exercise at Kitui High School, aimed at supporting local families affected by prolonged drought.

The initiative, spearheaded by the national government through the State Department for Livestock under the leadership of Principal Secretary Jonathan Mueke, saw verified beneficiaries receive five goats each as part of the recovery and resilience-building programme.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Musambi emphasized the importance of the initiative in restoring livelihoods and uplifting vulnerable households. He noted that the livestock handover was not just about replacing lost animals but also about restoring dignity and self-reliance to the people of Kitui Central.

“This is a government that listens and acts. These goats are not just livestock – they are a symbol of hope, renewal, and our commitment to walk with our people through hard times,” Musambi stated.

Hundreds of residents gathered at the venue, with many expressing gratitude for the timely support. The goats provided will serve as a vital source of food security and income for families working to recover from the harsh effects of climate change and drought.

The event was marked by joy and optimism, reinforcing the government’s continued focus on grassroots empowerment and sustainable recovery strategies across arid and semi-arid regions.
