Mwala, Mutomo, Kitui South – A remarkable discovery in Kitui South is set to revolutionize the construction industry. Mr. Mike Kivoto, a landowner in Mwala, Mutomo, has unveiled a unique type of soil with properties akin to pure cement, now dubbed “Mutomo Wonder Soil.”This extraordinary soil, scientifically referred to as Mwalanite soil, has proven to be highly effective in construction.
According to Mr. Kivoto, only 10 wheelbarrows of this soil mixed with a single bag of cement are enough to produce strong concrete beams or bricks. This innovation is expected to significantly cut down construction costs and enhance building efficiency.
The County Diary digital recently visited Mr. Kivoto’s 30-acre land to witness firsthand the soil’s potential.Experts believe this soil could be a game-changer, particularly in rural areas where cement is expensive and often inaccessible.
Encouraging locals to embrace this opportunity, Mr. Kivoto has already started manufacturing bricks from the soil for both personal and commercial use. “This is a major breakthrough. We have a natural resource here that can change the way we build. I urge residents to take advantage of it,” he said.
With the potential to revolutionize road construction and affordable housing, Mutomo Wonder Soil is gaining attention from developers and engineers. If widely adopted, it could redefine the construction landscape in Kitui South and beyond.
