Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, popularly known as Kawaya, has been elected as the Chairperson of the National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry, and Mining.
In a statement released this afternoon, Musyoka expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the new role, pledging to give his best in ensuring the success of the committee’s mandate.”I am deeply humbled and honored to accept this new responsibility and pledge to give it my best to see the success of this docket,” he stated.
The legislator also extended his appreciation to President William Ruto, acknowledging the Head of State’s support and leadership.Musyoka, a staunch member of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, has been vocal on environmental conservation, sustainable mining practices, and afforestation initiatives.
His election comes at a crucial time when Kenya is intensifying efforts to combat climate change and promote responsible mining practices.As chairperson, Musyoka will lead the committee in overseeing policy formulation, legislative reviews, and government initiatives on environmental conservation, forestry management, and the mining sector.
