Political temperatures in Mwingi West are rising as Patrick Ngere takes on the incumbent, Hon. CNN, over alleged incompetence and failed projects. Ngere and his supporters are demanding an apology from Hon. CNN, particularly over the stalled CRB Fund, which they claim has failed to benefit residents.
Community members, including elders and youth, have voiced their dissatisfaction, calling for CNN’s resignation and advocating for a leader who is “vigorous, focused, and wise.” They likened their resolve to that of historical resistance leader Mekatilili wa Menza, vowing to reject what they term as discriminatory leadership.
Patrick Ngere has gained support for his philanthropic efforts, especially in assisting the needy. His supporters now see him as the best candidate for 2027, rallying behind the slogan “Ngere Tosha!”
As the 2027 elections draw closer, the political battle in Mwingi West is set to intensify.
