The National Liberal Party (NLP) continued to ramp up its grassroots mobilization efforts this week, with party leader Augustus Muli Kyalo and his entourage pitching camp in Machakos County as part of an intensified national registration drive.
The Machakos stop is part of the broader push by the party to register new members across the country, ahead of the much-anticipated National Delegates Conference (NDC) scheduled for June 28, 2025, in Kitui County.
Addressing supporters in Machakos, Kyalo emphasized the importance of building a strong national base for the party, which positions itself as a progressive force committed to democratic values, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.
“Our goal is to bring a new kind of politics to Kenya—one that listens to the people and works for the people. The National Liberal Party is growing, and today’s turnout in Machakos is a clear sign that Kenyans are ready for change,” Kyalo said.
The NLP registration caravan, which has already covered several counties, aims to rally support, recruit members, and prepare party structures in readiness for the NDC. The June conference in Kitui is expected to attract delegates from all 47 counties, where the party will outline its policy agenda and unveil key leadership structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Machakos event saw hundreds of residents show interest in the party, with many expressing optimism about the NLP’s message of renewal and development.
The National Liberal Party has promised to continue with its registration tour in the coming weeks, targeting more counties in Eastern, Coast, Rift Valley, and Western Kenya.
