NCBA Group, a leading financial institution, celebrated the grand opening of its newest branch in Kitui County today, demonstrating its commitment to expanding its services and supporting economic development in the region.
The ceremony was attended by Kitui County Governor Hon. Dr. Julius Malombe, NCBA Group Retail Director Tirus Mwithiga, and Company Secretary Kathryne Maundu, alongside various stakeholders, customers, and staff members.
He further emphasized that banks play a critical role in financial intermediation, providing credit, investing in infrastructure, promoting financial inclusion, offering advisory services, managing risks, and fostering entrepreneurship.The county chief called on banks to focus on providing affordable and people-friendly credit and savings facilities.
In her speech, Kathryne Maundu highlighted NCBA’s dedication to serving Kitui’s growing economy and fostering financial inclusion. “As we open our doors today, we are investing in the future of Kitui,” she stated. “This is a testament to our commitment to expanding our services and empowering the communities we serve.”
Kitui County, with a population of about 1.2 million, has a robust economy supported by sectors such as construction, transport, infrastructure, hospitality, health, and education. NCBA’s presence in the county aims to enhance these industries by providing accessible financial solutions tailored to the needs of local businesses and individuals. The bank has already reached 668 customers, offering services like asset finance, construction loans, fixed deposits, money market accounts, and trade finance.
Maundu expressed gratitude for the community’s warm reception and praised the local leadership for their continued support. She acknowledged Governor Dr. Malombe for his collaborative approach, noting that his team’s support has been “invaluable” to the branch’s early success.
Emphasizing customer convenience, NCBA has rolled out popular services such as NCBA Till, mobile banking, online banking, and PDQ machines, which provide flexible options for clients to manage their finances efficiently. The branch is also staffed by a dedicated team of nine members, ensuring that customers receive personalized and high-quality service.
Looking to foster deeper engagement, NCBA has implemented market activations, client visits, and community initiatives to understand and respond to the evolving needs of Kitui residents.
