The incoming governor, Hon. Nzioka Waita, on Sunday attended a service at Christ The King Church in Masii, where he pledged to support the completion of the church by donating all the gypsum and an unlimited amount of cement.
Hon. Waita commended the church leadership for upholding strong moral values and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with religious institutions to foster a better society.
Later in the day, the leader joined football lovers at the renowned Kawaya Stadium, where he was welcomed by a massive crowd. Addressing the enthusiastic audience, he emphasized the urgent need for transformative leadership in Machakos County. Speaker after speaker at the event echoed the sentiments that Machakos residents are yearning for effective and accountable leadership.
Hon. Waita urged the youth to actively participate in shaping the county’s future by demanding quality leadership, accountability, and an end to corruption. He assured the people of Machakos that, if elected, he would clean up the county’s governance and propel it to greater heights.
As part of his commitment to nurturing talent and supporting sports, Hon. Waita donated high-quality soccer balls to over ten football teams drawn from across Masii Ward. The gesture was met with gratitude from the local teams and residents, who lauded his generosity and dedication to empowering young people through sports.
The event further cemented Waita’s growing influence in Machakos, with residents expressing optimism about his leadership vision.
