Nzisa Matulu Foundation Partners with Kitui County to Empower Girls Through Reusable Sanitary Pad Drive

By TCD TEAM
Nzisa Matulu Foundation has partnered with the County Government of Kitui in a bold initiative to empower young girls and safeguard their education through an ambitious Reusable Sanitary Pad Drive. The program aims to reach over 50,000 school-going girls across the county, with a strong focus on promoting dignity, menstrual hygiene, and school retention.

Nzisa Matulu, founder of the foundation, paid a visit to key line ministries earlier today as part of groundwork efforts to craft a workable formula ahead of a scheduled courtesy call to the Governor’s office. The visit marks a critical step in aligning the program with county health and education goals.

“A healthy life is a human right – we’re here to protect it,” Nzisa emphasized during the engagement.

The initiative is set to distribute reusable sanitary pad kits to girls in both primary and secondary schools. In addition, the drive will include comprehensive menstrual hygiene education, equipping girls with knowledge and confidence to manage their periods with dignity.

According to the foundation, lack of access to sanitary products continues to be a major barrier to education for many girls in Kitui and other parts of Kenya. By providing sustainable hygiene solutions, the initiative seeks to:

Keep girls in school

Boost their self-esteem

Promote environmentally sustainable practices

This collaborative effort aligns with the broader vision of the Kitui County Government to promote inclusive health and education outcomes, especially for vulnerable populations.
